NAPLES – HYPOGEA OF GREEK NAPLES AND AQUEDUCT OF AUGUSTUS (1°)

CIBeC has concluded an agreement with the Celanapoli Association, based in Naples, in order to identify, study, recover, enhance and make available the underground heritage of the City of Naples, and in particular the cavities, the Hypogea, the aqueducts and the galleries that have historical, archaeological and monumental interest located in the “Sanità” district of the city of Naples.

Currently, two studies have been performed:

Removal of materials from the environment located east of the Togati hypogeum:

The necessary inspections were carried out, what allowed to ascertain the nature of post-war wastes by studying the accumulated materials, ensuring that the clearing of the materials does not interfere with the static nature of the underground rooms or the building above.
