DEFINITION OF THE INDICATORS OF AN ARCHAEOLOGICAL RUIN IN TERMS OF PREVENTION AND MAINTENANCE IN A SEISMICAREA

PREMISE

The road located in the Comune di Capri is of international historical, cultural, environmental and landscape interest; for years the road has been closed on account of instability in the supporting structures, the adjacent cliff face, and the constituent materials; the Soprintendenza called on the competence of CIBeC to carry out a study to define the interventions necessary for the recuperation and public use of the road

OBJECTIVES

Scientific investigation of the causes of geotechnical, static, architectonic, technological instability and the environmental deterioration of the site

Assistance in drawing up a project ensuring the complete recuperation of the road and surrounding areas

PHASES

• Examination of the technical-scientific documentation made available by the Administration and all other documentation which could be identified
• Inspections to permit a comprehensive identification of the status quo
• Specification, with detailed report, of the surveys, photographic documentation, probes and laboratory tests indispensable to this end
• Consignment of the findings from analysis of the documentation, on site studies and laboratory tests with indication of general criteria for safeguarding public safety and the requisites of environmental conservation
• Elaboration of detailed reports indicating the specific techniques to be adopted in the project
• Final overall report summarising the results obtained and the criteria formulated
