CUMA – EXPERIMENT APPLICATION STEREOPHOTOGRAMMETRY TO AN ARCHAEOLOGICAL EXCAVATION

PREMISE

The Dipartimento di Discipline Storiche dell’Università di Napoli Federico II carried out excavations at Cuma in zona Masseria del Gigante.

As part of a collaboration with the Centro Regionale di Competenza (INNOVA), CIBeC planned and carri- ed out photography to obtain a 3D reconstruction of part of the excavation area.

Experimental application of stereophotogrammetry in surveying archaeological excavations

• Taking numerous photographs required for the virtual reconstruction
• Elaboration of the images in a 3D model
• 3D model reconstruction of the excavation in Virtual Reality
