OBJECTIVES

• Monitoring the tuff outcrop on which Castel dell’Ovo is built
• Scientific investigation of the causes of geotechnical instability
• Final report on findings and assessment of need for consolidation works

PHASES

• Examination of technical-scientific documentation provided by the Administration
• Topographic and photographic surveys, test digs and sampling for laboratory tests
• Design, installation and running of monitoring device for three years or so
• Final report containing summary of findings and criteria formulated
