OBJECTIVES

Indicate methodological and operative proposals for defining models of intervention for the mitigation and/ or elimination of seismic risk in ancient architecture in the ruined state

• Definition of ruin and classification in two categories
• Details of each category covering many types of vulnerability
• Revision of the risk charter
• Identification and characterization of indicators of vulnerability for the first category
• Quantification of some of the principal indicators of vulnerability for the first category and discussion concerning the second
• Examination of projects for monuments on the Acropolis in Athens: the Parthenon
• Differences and affinities with problems of architecture in Magna Grecia: the case of Paestum PERIOD: July 1994 – December 1995
